Managed a team of 10 responsible for approx. 150 Brands; including QuikSilver, Animal, Ripcurl, Billabong, G-Star, Levi’s, Converse, Vans, Original Penguin, Scotch & Soda, Superdry, French Connection to name a few. Responsible for seasonal budget of around £3.8 million across all menswear apparel Brands and Categories. Buying Approx 3500 skus per season. Menswear is 20% of the sales mix across Surfdomes 8 other depts.. Reporting directly into the head of Buying and Merchandising. I am responsible for the selections/sign offs and representation of each brand on Surfdome.com. I identified that the styling of the garments could be improved by using appropriate models to best represent each brand/product and ensured better communication between the buying depts. and the studio. This has had a significant impact on supplier satisfaction and has also improved sales. I introduced weekly trade meetings within my dept which has now spread across the company. These meetings have been introduced to ensure stock levels are monitored and managed effectively; Prompting stock cancellations, clearance buys, stock swaps for next season or best sellers, reorders and obtaining mark down contribution. I was also given the responsibility of sourcing and recruiting numerous employees for various buying depts. within Surfdome from Admin to Buyer Level. I identified failings in the current employee structure within Surfdome and undertook the task of overhauling the Job Specs and descriptions introducing a progressive promotion process. This has given structure to each team whilst raising morale and introducing development opportunities, offering ambitious staff the opportunity to progress.
