About me

The process of design and the way in which manufacture plays within a design is something which holds my interest as a designer. Future trends and refined details are something I am particularly passionate about as a designer. The journey of education and my experience from an internship has helped me define myself and my style as a designer.

Work history

Junior Product Designer

Modus Furniture

May 2016 - Jul 2016
  • Manor Farm Cottages, Cricket St Thomas, Chard TA20 4BZ, UK
  • Full Time
  • Extending on from my internship with Modus, the company invited me to stay on for an additional two months before returning to my final year at University. During these two months, my roles basically stayed the same. There were a few exceptions in which I had more responsibility such as checking manufacturing drawings and doing projects unsupervised. I also helped organise plans for the future of marketing, training and handing over to the new intern in preparation for me leaving the company.

Creative Intern

Modus Furniture

Jul 2015 - Jun 2016
  • Manor Farm Cottages, Cricket St Thomas, Chard TA20 4BZ, UK
  • Internship
  • From developing and drawing furniture on CAD to being part of the team building a stand in Salone del Mobile. Working for Modus for the year allowed me to improve many of my skills, especially my CAD and communication. My roles during this year were pretty much unlimited involving; developing and drawing furniture designs, drawing out and checking floor plans, creating manufacture drawing packs, producing presentations for clients, conducting research for clients, designing car parking spaces, organising and helping move offices.

Visual Merchandiser

May 2015 - Jun 2015
  • 6 - 12 Long Row, Off Old Market Square, Nottingham NG1 2DZ, UK
  • Full Time
  • This role was new to the store when I applied, having worked for the company for numerous years previous to this position I had a great understanding of the company dynamic, and an interest in the store layout and design. During my short time in this position I experienced dressing and styling mannequins and homeward displays according to the current trends, both in store and window displays. Point of Sale was also another important implement, the way in which these are used can hugely influence the buyers decisions, therefore these needed to be used to maximum potential.

BA Furniture and Product Design
