I am a multi-disciplinary senior digital designer, I have over 20 years of experience in digital design. I’ve worked on major projects for various clients in retail, travel, finance, gambling, recruitment and B2B. I’ve delivered solutions for web, mobile, tablet, Augmented Reality and wearable technology. Unfortunately The Dots doesn't have an option for my title. I was Head of Innovations UI/UX. Working alongside the New Product Strategist and reporting directly to the New Product Director my role was to develop new and innovative market leading products. My main responsibilities were to manage the visual and UX development of these products from initial idea, through storycrafting and customer experience charting, wiresframing, hi-fi designs and prototypes. I had a small team of dedicated multidisciplinary experience designers to help in the production of the various assets needed to gain both buy-in from key advocates and to ultimately test and refine with customers themselves.
I was recruited as a Lead Designer to remaster all digital delivery platforms and deploy a new brand experience for the sports product to Betfairs customers. This involved working with the brand team to explore possible avenues of treatment for our desktop, mobile and tablet products. When the desktop neared completion, I took the lead on our mobile product design development. I was required to lead, support and collaborate with other verticals within the business to give a unified digital design experience across the product suite.
Working for a consultancy, it was required that I could be dropped into any situation and be able to hit the ground running. With varied projects of various sizes for many clients, I was expected to be leading a digital rebranding exercise, creating conceptual mobile solutions, re-envisioning a clients online presence sifting design testing data for opportunities. As a Senior Creative Consultant I answered to both the Director of EMC Digital and my immediate Creative Director. I worked in various team sizes from working alone to being in large teams comprised of Art Directors, Senior UX designers, Copywriters and Artworkers. Clients expected the tightest and freshest thinking from our team, always expecting delivery of innovation and fresh (and sometimes unexpected) insight into the future trends of their industry with compelling arguments made to reinforce and instigate the adoption of these solutions. It was one of my primary functions was to make sure that these ideas were delivered in the most compelling manner, be it in pop-up exhibitions, printed prospect brochures, storyboarding, prototype apps and video/animation delivery.
