Led the technical delivery/ product owner of a customised Big Data software platform for Independent Audit to CIMA (the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), including implementing an Agile process with an offshore team. Re-architected the solution to establish a SaaS ecommerce marketplace offering, including adopting a “micro-service” architecture and the introduction of DevOps/ Agile based approach to delivery. Designed and launched a free CareTech service, MiFile.net, to assist the emergency services when first attending an incident. This allows users to share their information in a secure and private way, and to notify their key contacts via SMS. I am currently working with early stage start-ups to design technical solution, source development team and build investment plans. This includes developing the product roadmap, technology selection, onshore vs. offshore vs. inhouse combinations, and risk/ investment management.
$10M+ P&L owner, working closely with MD, CFO and CIO, responsible for designing new engagement model, and the delivery of IT strategy across all business functions and global geographies. This included working closely with business area directors to identify, prioritise and deliver business aligned technical solutions. Key programmes included design and delivery of a new ecommerce site, establishing service orientated architecture, update of learning management system, full stand-alone agency rebuild (website, pricing and promotions, finance system and integrated Salesforce CRM) and API integration with third party sales agents. The role included a high degree of international travel and stakeholder management, mediating various conflicting business interests and promoting the adoption of a ‘business engaged’ approach to IT delivery. Achievements: - Direct budget/ strategy ownership for ~£4M IT transformation, and oversight of additional £6M operational and business systems; - Technical design and oversight for ecommerce solution, built using Drupal 7, integrated to Salesforce and backend legacy systems via MuleSoft’s CloudHub; - Contract negotiation and procurement for strategic technology choices; - Agency IT re-development into complex Salesforce multi-org structure; - Development of a 3-year technology strategy that aligns to business innovation and growth; - Successfully implemented Agile and DevOps cultural change.
Led the digital delivery at Burberry, including the integration and architecture of Salesforce within Burberry World (Chatter) and the project management of Supply Chain World – an integrated Salesforce/ SAP solution for partner companies. Additional oversight for the ATG ecommerce delivery and Digital Asset Management platform. Account value ~£8M. Promoted into role of Operations Director for newly formed Digital business unit within Capgemini, responsible for directly managing 45+ team of open source developers and DevOps engineers, and growing the business unit from 75 to over 150 people within 9-months. Responsible for reporting on ~£30M in digital programmes.
