Provide out of office contact to playout on Operations based issues ? Working with Head of Operations to launch new channels and channel portfolios. Using Prince 2 project management tools to complete launch activities within budget, on time and across multiple departments, organizations and territories. Helping to build relationships with playout providers, Scheduling and Planning, Distribution, Creative Services, Media Supplies etc and set up of daily procedures and processes ? Manage and lead the project team across tent pole and live events such as Comic Relief and local on air campaigns across the EMEA region. This involves leading the Scheduling, Operations, Marketing, Sponsorship and Creative team in order to produce and deliver events on time, on budget and within BBC guidelines. ? Establish specifications of file based playout and implementing the procedures for encode/transcode, file formats and delivery of material for SD and HD channels ? Manage the smooth flow of information across all teams and suppliers contributing to the day to day production of the channels. ? Review all playout transmission logs, categorise and report on issues which arise – resolve on a daily basis with relevant departments / organizations ? Lead monthly meetings between BBC WW and Red Bee Media to discuss channel outages, localisation issues etc and provide resolutions ? Compliance of media to Ofcom and international standards on an ad hoc basis as when required by the Compliance team ? Implement new procedures and practices such as usage of FTP sites and best practices across BBC EMEA channels liaising internally and externally to achieve results

  • Channel Operations Co-ordinator ? The main contact for all content delivery issues for the Polish and Hungarian region and MTV’s Broadcast Services departments ? A source of Operational and technical info within the UK for MTV, Vh1, Viva & Comedy Central Polska both in and out of office hours ? Organising and monitoring the flow of content internally & externally. Using the material databases & implementing procedures to ensure delivery of all material in accordance with internal and external deadlines ? Updating of material database ? Establish file formats and encode material for MTV Emerging Markets channels. This includes both SD and HD formats. Quality control and deliver via FTP or hard drive ? Coordinate pan network events for the region. This is a start to finish task which includes: planning live transmission and live VO, recorded VO, delivery of immediate repeats, planning scheduling of the event, booking internal/external facilities, first point of contact for the region and MTV HQ for the event. ? Working with Channel Operations Managers with channel launch’ – material delivery, new graphics, TX suite allocation etc. ? HD – source and supply the MTV HD channel with the required FHA clips for up convert to HD for channel launch. Work with Talent department to obtain clips from labels. ? Check and deal with any daily ‘on air’ discrepancies in conjunction with Polish counterparts ? Ensure material is delivered to legal team with adequate time for viewing in accordance with Ofcom regulations ? Ensure material requested by regions is cleared for use by that territory and specific channel ? Assist with the implementation of new systems and software, for example, new EPG software ? Help source and dispatch on air material as required by regional department on an ongoing basis ? Provide a weekly report on Operations based issues for the region. Providing solutions and follow ups as required ? Make decisions on QC of material, shows that may need to be dropped or amended for technical reasons ? Ensure paperlogs (channels daily ‘script’) are delivered to ATS (TX suite) ? Keeping up to date on Ofcom procedures and practices

Project manage the ‘on boarding’ and BAU practices of all BBCWW Channels VOD deals. This includes setting up file based technical delivery in line with client technical specifications, managing testing processes, coordinating with internal BBCWW Sales, Scheduling, Acquisitions and Marketing departments to accurately meet contractual agreements and deliver the designated VOD content within agreed timelines ? Manage the relationship with BBCWW technical supplier ensuring video files, XML and localisation is delivered accurately ? Account manage existing VOD deals from a media delivery perspective and manage any changes to the service ? Be an integral part of the VOD board, looking at new opportunities, stream lining and expanding on existing deals and keeping across new industry and competitor developments ? Linear Broadcast Management: ? Manage the relationships with BBCWW playout centres (Red Bee and Globecast), technical suppliers of media delivery assets, BBCWW media compliance and localisation suppliers. Keep track of KPI’s and ensure high standards are met ? Responsible for a team of 5 staff and manage their workloads for delivery of media to channels globally. Ensure the team maintains accurate records and data in relation to media supply to cross check against invoiced playout ingest reports ? Lead the team on channel launch projects. This includes working with Scheduling and Creative teams to ensure media is complied, edited and delivered on time and within budget. Report at weekly progress meetings on the status of media delivery ? Lead special projects such as Sports Relief, Royal Wedding and Olympics from a media delivery perspective. Includes setting up of satellite feeds and fast turnaround delivery ? Approve VO artists particularity for the CBeebies channel ? BBC WW Australia: ? Manage the migration of all linear asset production from Foxtel to TVT working from BBCWW Sydney offices to project manage the move and set up BAU workflows ? Devising new international content delivery workflows between London, Sydney, Singapore and Los Angeles ? Increase the number of assets BBCWW Australia channels TX in HD to meet and exceed Foxtel requirements ? Project manage the ingest of existing tape content held at Foxtel at TVT whilst keeping costs to a minimum by closing working with Scheduling and Acquisitions teams in regards to content rights and licence periods
