Nick Smith, Executive Vice President, Formats at All3Media International has over fifteen years’ experience of working with television formats. He has spent time developing formats (part of the development team that devised Strictly Come Dancing AKA Dancing with the Stars), producing formats, and the international distribution of formats.
He’s previously worked for Sony Pictures Television International, the BBC, and a number of independent production companies. He looks after all3media’s international productions, including over 30 versions each of Gogglebox, Kitchen Nightmares, Cash Cab and Undercover Boss, along with format acquisition and strategy. He is the Visiting Professor of TV Formats at Sunderland University, sits on the general board of the Format Recognition and Protection Association (FRAPA), and is a founder member of Reed Midem’s diversity advisory board. He is the brainchild behind the annual Diversify TV Excellence Awards, recognising the best television shows that celebrate diversity, equality and inclusion.

He looks after the adaptations of All3Media’s international shows, such as the 35+ international adaptations of Gogglebox.
