Punch Communications is a full-service social agency with a focus on data-led strategy, creative, paid media and SEO. Clients include Sony Mobile, Legal & General, John Lewis, LinkedIn, BBC, Thomson, Habitat, Topshop, plus many more. As an Account Director, I worked as part of the senior team managing major accounts - specifically Barclays and Barclaycard - specialising in project management, digital and social strategy, content ideation and execution, copywriting, reporting, and new business development.
During my five years at Amazon, I was promoted to a managerial position and worked on a number of high profile projects across three different product categories. Whilst in the Movies and TV team, an editorial platform which I conceived and managed – The Hub - won the “Retailer Initiative of the Year” category at the 2016 BASE Awards. I was the account manager for global vendors including Warner Bros, Universal Pictures and Sony. I also pitched and designed premium franchise stores for brands such as Disney Pixar, Roald Dahl, Harry Potter and Star Wars. My work within the Health & Beauty team involved managing the UK launch of the Men’s Grooming and Sex & Sensuality categories, and leading pan-European projects on behalf of my main account, Procter & Gamble. Most recently, I worked within the Amazon Tickets team on the branding, marketing and logistics for a series of Prime-exclusive gigs including John Legend and Robbie Williams.
Working within the BHA press office, I was responsible for managing multiple websites and a major restructure project to improve UX. I co-ordinated and led Racing Experience Days for disadvantaged children as part of The Prince’s Trust initiative, and arranged for the donation of 80,000 free tickets from every racecourse in Britain for Tickets for Troops. I also assisted with the event management of the annual industry Stud and Stable Staff Awards in Knightsbridge. General duties included writing press releases for both promotional and reactive purposes, and dealing with enquiries from journalists and members of the public.
My core role focused on co-ordinating the popular Keeper for a Day experiences and Animal Adoptions programme across London and Whipsnade Zoo. I oversaw commercial licensing and unit base parking, exceeding the annual target in less than six months by negotiating deals with film location managers for productions such as “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”. I also spent time researching strategies and prepared a comprehensive report investigating future business development opportunities for ZSL
I managed all things marketing including the website, email strategy and social media channels. I designed the racecourse print literature including the annual brochure and flyers, and collaborated with creative agencies for the design, production and placement of press and radio advertisements. I was responsible for organising high-revenue events such as conferences, hospitality and Christmas parties, and for managing annual membership, which included arranging reciprocal dates with free entry to over 55 other racecourses. On racedays, I oversaw operations including managing entertainment and trade stands, and co-ordinating casual staff, contractors, caterers and officials.
I worked as a home-based researcher for a text message answer-providing service, sourcing and sending answers to a wide range of questions within the company’s three-minute deadline.
