Work history
    Visual Merchandiser
     - London, United KingdomFull Time
Whilst working at this luxury brand retail store, I was assigned the role of assistant visual merchandiser and sales associate. My role entailed assisting the head visual merchandiser in arranging the store in accordance with the theme provided by our seniors; following set guidelines but still allowing room for personal innovations, making the store our own. Throughout this process we had to be organised, meticulous and creative, in order to design an aesthetically pleasing and vibrant layout for the store and mannequins, we had to be able to recognize the stock market within our products to understand what to emphasize within the store in order to create most sales. With this particular company, everyone from the cashier to the stockroom assistant work together to ensure that certain duties are fulfilled creating a very positive and supportive work environment, which greatly improved my team work and communication skills. As sales associates we were encouraged to create a smooth and serene ambience to the store through our various forms of customer care and style. We created a personal shopping experience for the customer, by fabricating a style that is unique to the said customer’s personality and needs; through this sales are driven towards the end target figures. As well as gaining experience between the customer and associate, which can be quite precious. As a sales associate I maintained the very high standards of the store within the section that was allocated to me whilst providing customer care.

The experience from working in a call centre helped me adapt to a fast paced environment, which included consistent contact with people via phone, dealing with difficult clients, learning persuasive techniques and how to interact with a diverse range of people. This job increased my IT skills through the use of MS Office, CATI software, call and data handling, updating records and working in an administrative and marketing environment. The most important aspect of this job was team work, in order to achieve set targets all groups had to work together, despite difficulties faced due to limited resources team work allowed us to achieve our targets

     - London, United Kingdom
This course, indeed appropriately titled; Design Management and Cultures, quite the mouthful, apparently to everyone I know. This Degree has been quite intellectually stimulat-ing for one of my mind as it has been centred around the sociology of design and the art, incorporating the set skills needed to market and manage design products. This course has - during the time period allocated to me - helped me develop and mold my mind into an articulate creation of ingenuity. This has been done through allowing me to choose modules of a relation to my interests. The first year encapsulates the class into the mindset of the basic necessities of design management which is through the culture and history of it. We defined it through choosing an incredibly diverse settings, the first being Brick Lane; a place that heralds the time-line that London as a society has transitioned into; a hub for the arts centric. Year 2! This year was a great way for the class to take the base structure of design manage-ment and marketing and tailor it towards our own interests. And now... year 3. In this year we are now taking what we have learnt throughout the previous year, and learning to how to manifest our proposals into the real world. We are starting to learn how to not only become a part of society, but how to change it. Which is what this project and process book is all about.
