About me
Nikki Cochrane is CoFo of Digital Mums - a digital education business that is transforming the working lives of mums by empowering women with flexible work - or Work That Works® as we call it. We educate mums with in-demand social media and digital skills via our Social Media Management training programmes and our new pilot programme, 'The Digital Retox', which aims to demystify the 21st century digital workplace. We connect them with a powerful support community so they can find rewarding work that works around their families. To enable more women to find flexible work, we create 21st century workplaces by supporting businesses to be more agile in their approach to the working day.

  • Why we need to Clean up the F-Word
Why we need to Clean up the F-WordNew research from Digital Mums shows 7 in 10 UK employees would like to have flexible working but only 12 percent have ever asked for it.  Over half think that any request would be viewed negatively by their employer.   This suggests that, three years on, the government's 'right to request' law isn't going anywhere near far enough to remove the barrier to a more flexible way of working more in tune with today's technology and entrepreneurial workforce. Our plan with the Digital Mums #WorkThatWorks Movement is for flexible working to be seen as the norm for everyone and not just the reserve of a ‘lucky’ few.   We believe the rigid and restrictive ‘9 to 5 coat-on-chair’ culture should be assigned to the past.  To understand more, check out our F-Word video here:
  • #WorkThatWorks Research:
#WorkThatWorks Research:Our research shows that if both SAHMs and working mums were able to work more, it could equal to an additional 66 million hours worked each week in the UK. That's a massive £62.5 billion boost to the economy. Find the full report here.

  • Digital Mums–finding the essence
Digital Mums–finding the essenceWhile working through designs for various collatoral, I began to simplify & find connections to unify the Digital Mums brand—such as using full page photos (& quotes) that appealed to the emotions, using more & more of just one colour (with black & white). This led to developing a consistent visual language—through applying this clean layout with an underlying grid-system, consistent typography & icon styles.

This International Women’s Day, meet the 200 Women Redefining the Creative Industry in 2018Discover our 2020 list here This International Women's Day, we asked influential icons to nominate 10 trailblazing women who they believe are redefining the creator landscape. The result? A unique and incredible list of 200 trailblazing women breaking barriers and inspiring change! Only 36% of jobs in the creative sector are currently filled by women. At the top of the tree there’s an even bigger problem - women make up only 11% of Creative Directors. In an attempt to change this, our month-lo
