- The Hidden UniverseFor this project I tried to explore the that part of reality which can only be described by physics and maths, but which is difficult if not impossible to imagine outside the realm of numbers. My goal was to make this universe visible through a series of images, illustrations and typography.
- CamoufaceThe brief: To consider our online presence and its surveillance by governments and corporations. My work: I find it interesting that many people worry about online privacy, but still everyone uploads their pictures on Facebook without thought. I wanted to find a solution for this paradox. I made a proposal for an app, Camouface, which lets you edit your pictures so that facial recognition algorithms can no longer recognise them. The app will let you add shapes to your image until it can no longer recognise a face in the picture. Only then are you able to save or share your image.
- The little book of oraclesThe brief: Design and produce 10 items to sell in the ‘This Way Up’ pop-up shop degree show fundraiser. My work: I created a dos-a-dos bound book with strange and mysterious oracle messages on every page. With a question in mind, you can randomly choose one of the pages which will give you an answer that may or may not make sense. The book consists of two parts: Oracles from the Heavens, which carries more lighthearted messages, and Oracles from the Underworld, with a more sinister tone. Yet the distinction between light and dark is blurred as each page is equally surreal and bizarre.
