I am a freelance spoken word poet and performer previously commissioned as a playwright, theatre maker and creative facilitator.
Prior experience has included performance poetry (Latitude Festival), playwrighting Set In Stone, To Barb (Royal Exchange) In Care (National Youth Theatre), workshop facilitation She’s The Business (Manchester Business School), Afro Resistance (Goldsmiths University) and as a solo theatre artist The Adventures Of Sky The Reluctant Hero (Contact Theatre) and Everything You Could Imagine Is Real (National Portrait Gallery).
In 2012 I won the first Flying Solo pitch party at Contact Theatre which allowed me to be commissioned with my first theatre show, tour and launch my career as a solo artist.
I create work that explores purpose and that examines the limits of the imagination and story itself. I make work to explore my own identity and respond to the world around me. I aim to reveal truths in interesting ,provoking ways never losing sight of fun and a sense of hope.

This increased my awareness of frameworks and strategies I could use as a freelancer working in school and community environments. The course allowed me to understand the roles and responsibilities of delivery in line with government bodies, health and safety, legislation and regulations.
I was able to explore various learning styles as well as reflect on my own. With other students I practised role play scenarios and discussed different class management approaches.
