Projects
  • BAYANG
BAYANG A reading lamp with a shadow effect from wayang leather pattern The reading lamp is inspired by the traditional Indonesian shadow play ‘wayang kulit’ that is recognized by the UNESCO as a world heritage. Ancient tales are told by the puppet master who moves the puppets in front of a screen with the audience watching the shadow play from the other side. Wayang kulit entertains but also educates people about their roles in society. The Bayang Lamp connects the tradition with modern life by provid
  • Pouring the Light
Pouring the Light A light sculpture, a therapy with a magical light effect I am always amazed by light effects resulted from various materials. This time, I decided to use water as the main medium to work on. Water is my all time favorit material to experiment with light. Its fluidity keeps the light effect dynamic and unique. Water also generates very interesting optical effects such as diffraction, dispersion, refraction, and reflection. The lamp is designed to accompany us in our relax time by its pleasant light effect. Started by pouring water into the glass bowl, spot LED 7x1W directs up to the water, projecting a beautiful and relaxing light effect on the ceiling. Different light effect can be achieved by changing the height of the glass bowl. Transparent plexiglass, brass string, and wood have a calming and natural feeling, bring more poetic presence to the sculpture.
  • PLUME
PLUME A wood sheet pendant lamp for Japanese women apartment Bird feather is soft, dynamic, and light. The idea is to transform this bird feather image to the feeling and ambiance which is given by the lamp. The gaps among the wood sheet produce a beautiful light and shadow. This lamp is a result of lighting design project for two months internship at Sakai Design Associate, Japan.
