About me
2017 Masters (Sound For the Moving Image) graduate from the Glasgow School of Art. I have arts administration and coordinating experience having worked as an intern at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre and at Art Dubai. My own practice as an artist includes experimental filmmaking and live sound art performance. A Lebanese passport holder, I am fluent in English, Arabic and French. I am enthusiastic, hard-working, committed and a self-starter.
Projects
  • Mirage (Installation)
Mirage (Installation)Displayed in January 2015, at the Huna Al Emarat 2005 -2015  exhibition in the Gallery of Light Ductac, Dubai UAE .
  • Mental Warfare
Mental WarfareA sound work that is accompanied by a performance, it uses electronic samples, and sounding domestic objects to portray all the different personas an individual can carry by being a part of this society. The act of masking and unmasking oneself questions our understanding of  who we really are, versus how we are taught to portray ourselves when embedded in a cage that is not of our construct.  I give thanks to Simon Coates for Tse Tse Fly Middle Easts ongoing support and all the people that helped me with the filming of this work, Hassan Issa, Angela Burdon and Sara Stenlund (barcelona based sculptor).
  • Almost Poetic (Excerpt from Matters of Grey)
Almost Poetic (Excerpt from Matters of Grey)Elements of the work mirror the qualities of the communal kitchen. The recordings from the church and the mosque are of places that are shared places. Similar to the common kitchen. Individuals: come together in this place to engage in rituals and share something of themselves with each other. In this sense, the kitchen can be viewed as a sacred place. The intermingling of people from disparate background and cultures is represented in this piece. Through the use of five different languages. The voices allow the listener to experience these emotions like an overheard conversation.  Shown in a collaborative exhibition "A Random Piece of Someone" at the Tontine Building (GSA), November 2016.
  • Mercury
Mercury"...while his collaborative track with Nour Sokhon (Mercury also under the name Nightmares from Fabric) pits the digital against the organic." The track was released in the Easy Listening Volume One album by Tse Tse Fly Middle East.

Masters project: People On Sound 24 minute documentary exploring the transformative effect that sound has on individuals. This project showcases my ability to take on a variety of roles and creative tasks at all stages of the filmmaking process.

Graduate Project: Motion Series is comprised of five artworks (Into the blue, The Nebulous Form, Morphosis, Morphosis Live and Orbiting Lives) which comment on space, time, the fourth dimension, society’s relationship with motion, philosophy and nature to raise awareness to the unspoken injustice that is in this “iron cage”. My thesis Gesticulation reflected my interest in the crossovers and counterpoints between experimentation and creativity in arts and science.
