About me
Oliver Michael Bacon is a multidisiplinary artist working across digital disciplines to create live performances and immersive experiences. Engaging primarily in video, his work uses a mixture of digital collage, 3D animation, and found footage to create films that aim to expand boundaries of perceived space. Inn morphing and manipulating these modes, sculptural effects form to produce often eerie and uncanny imagery. Exploring notions of memory, sentiment and desire, his practice considers the medium of video as something you experience sensually as well as something you might recognise. He has directed Live stage visuals shown at La Sucrière, Lyon (2023); Fira de Barcelona, Sónar Music Festival (2023); Corsica Studios, London (2023) and produced work displayed at The Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt (2023) & The Hunterian, Glasgow (2022). He received a FdA Art & Design, Central Saint Martins in 2018, before earning a BA Graphic Communication Design, Central Saint Martins in 2021.

The work was based on the ancient Daguerreotype process, but a modern reimagined adaptation.

Karoshi - Eva Risueño Navarro (Garment Concept Film)Named after the source inspiration of the garment that is pictured within the film. The Garment featured was designed by my friend and collaborator Eva Risueno Navarro who is currently studying Fashion Knit at Central Saint Martins with myself. 'Karoshi' is a term used for Japan's culture of overwork, where it is common for businessmen and women to collapse due to exhaustion. My film looks at capturing a dreamscape of a subject who is experiencing the effects of this culture. My film uses Photo

Working with Elizabeth in her studio, I particularly focus on the Post-production of her film-work. Including editing, colour grading and CGI graphics. Recently, Elizabeth's exhibition at the Hunterian museum in Glasgow titled 'Underfoot', featured CGI I created and editing I helped orchestrate alongside Elizabeth. Currently I am helping Elizabeth reconstruct an old project titled 'WestHinder', bringing the project into a new life and context.
