I graduated from the University for the Creative Arts with a 2:1 Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fashion Journalism. During my studies I gained a valuable insight into the fashion industry and completed a few internships while studying - within various industries. My love for writing continues and I have a new found passion for the digital sphere. I'm extremely creative and love sharing my ideas. I am looking to venture into digital marketing as this is my passion and hope to learn and grow my skills along the way.Locked Pro Plan feature
In my current role I solely run the Instagram & Twitter accounts for the Tunbridge Wells store. This involves using CMS daily, reaching out to influencers, curating content through photography and software such as Illustrator, Photoshop & Indesign, and monitoring analytics to see results. I assist on the planning of events – including designing promotional materials. I also conceptualise and install window displays, which often involves communicating with suppliers and management in store, the display usually ties into a marketing campaign in-store. Other aspects of my role include assisting on product shoots for the store brochure, and sourcing articles for the in store magazine. I also have experience using Excel, Word & Powerpoint.
During this internship I wrote profiles on clients while maintaining professional relationships with them. I managed and updated press lists, researching new bloggers/influencers when needed, and I produced engaging copy for client’s social media channels.
While I interned I took photographs of the models, and managed the database accordingly. This required organisation when linking model pictures to the correct information. This was a pressurised environment as there were deadlines as to when models would be selected for fashion shows.
This experience flexed my writing skills as the subject matter was based on men’s lifestyle which was new to me. I attended events where I represented the company and followed this up with articles that were published online.
I created blog posts with content that I had suggested. The posts upheld the Oh My Love tone which was important to the brand. I sourced and edited images on Photoshop for their social channels. I assisted on photoshoots for the website and completed ‘send outs’ to magazines for photoshoots.
During my time at this start-up magazine I started as a contributor and worked my way up the ranks because of my dedication to the magazine and team. I soon became responsible for attending London Fashion Week to write show reports which were published on their website. One of my biggest achievements was having my writing published in their print issue ‘Terra Incognita’.
This was my first taste of the fashion industry and built my confidence while working on events. I was given specific responsibilities such as being front of house managing the guest list, welcoming guests and setting up venues for shows. My work with POP PR allowed the events to run smoothly and in a timely manner.
