    Bristol, United KingdomFreelance
City Editor for the Bristol branch of Native, a music and nightlife events guide for students. As the first ever Bristol editor, recruitment was a big priority, along with liaisons with venue owners and record labels to secure deals in exchange for articles. Working closely with regional managers, articles include previews, interviews and reviews. Native covers mostly music events, but also has a focus on student life. As well as advertising writing roles and promoting the Native brand, the role also involves a biweekly meeting with the group of local employed writers. At these meetings, constructive criticism and praise is given, and there are open discussions about the next two weeks, during which targets are set and questions are answered. These meetings are also an opportunity to hear new pitches and ideas which may be carried through. Meetings with other city editors across the country every two weeks allow for communication to discuss positives and negatives, and also give criticism and support. Data entry for the events listing part of the site, keeping users up to date with every event going on at every venue in their city. Interviews for Native include Walk The Moon and Twin Atlantic.
