The School is a project I started early 2017. A movement and project that desires to improve the city and the schools by doing so. A collaborative interdisciplinary movement to research urban challenges, and create unpredictable reactions and outcomes, with public participation and creative residency programmes. All efforts, products and knowledge is celebrated in publications, exhibitions, performances and festivals. www.theschool.city and www.fb.com/theschoolhasselt give more insight.
After leaving Creneau I founded Hectica, a multidisciplinary studio in Hasselt. Projects were diverse, so were the clients. Big brands like adidas Originals asked for branding and POS, new entrepreneurs asked for development of brand and store or company. If interior design happened once in a while, most projects were graphic. I love graphic design more than anything. Perhaps I love more than graphic design, but I do have a home in it. I collaborate in everything I do. When I used to be hungry in the beginning to want it all and to want to design it all by myself, I love sharing my projects with others, granting juniors opportunities to contribute somehow, and seniors to play or experiment with one part of my projects. I am not afraid of granting creative freedom, therefor I am strong in conceiving the right canvas for this freedom and its required roles. Hectica is my studio, and one of my many projects. www.hectica.com gives a view on some projects.
During my time, Creneau had all denim brands, global marketing and exhibition stands, interiors of retail and horeca. My initial work included concept creation, graphic and interior design. After 2 years, a graphic department was developed, where I focused on identity and branding, publications for marketing and POS and instore graphics. Brands: Lee, Levi's, Dockers, EFL, Mexx, XX by Mexx, Wrangler, Pepe, Mercedes, ... www.creneau.com gives an idea.
