About me
The story of Patrick's life... so far... Patrick is Chinese if you can’t tell already. Relocating to England from Hong Kong at the age of 12 had made Patrick more of a philosophical being and has allowed him approaching life through various perspectives and angles. He found his greatest passion/obsession in advertising after his bachelor in business & fine art and master in advertising. He now works for the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel (part of Marriott) as the Marketing & Communications Manager; look after the marketing discipline, digital, brand, communications and PR for the hotel, and manage publicity, online visibility, content strategy, brand activations, story-telling and promotion for all the outlets. As a creative individual, Patrick defines himself as “A tablet that never stops fizzing.”

    ICE SKATE BOURNEMOUTHTHE WORK My task was to develop and execute a social strategy for Ice SKATE Bournemouth, in order to increase fans, followers and levels of engagement. Handling every aspect of the social account and channels; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Linking them by using IFTTT, IFTTT gives the account a creative control over the different platforms. THE RESULT So far we have seen increases in fan and follower numbers, as well as rates of engagement. In particular Facebook has seen almost a 400% increase in fans, and created awareness through ‘2 FOR 1 TUESDAY’ and #IceSkateBournemouth. THE USE OF IFTTT #ICESKATEBOURNEMOUTH Anyone who uses #IceSkateBournemouth on Instagram to upload a photo, their photo will be reposted by the Ice SKATE Bournemouth official Facebook page to share customer experience to fans and followers.

    As the Marketing & Communications Manager, Patrick looks after the marketing discipline, digital, brand, communications and PR within the hotel, putting actions in place to influence the external and internal guests, owners, company and community-at-large. Focusing on publicity, online visibility, content strategy, brand activations, story-telling and promotion, in order to accomplish the goal of enhanced hotel, brand and business perception: • Implementing the brand and hotel positioning and marketing plan linked to the key hotel plan business plan objectives; • Implement 360 marketing activations and a number of PR stories a year; • Build relationships with key local partners to be involved in King’s Cross events and integrate the local culture within our hotel; • Create the social media strategy for the hotel's Facebook, Twitter Instagram, LinkedIn, and other 3 F&B outlets; • Looking after influencers collaborations to increase our Instagram awareness and consistently work on our content strategy; • Hosting media and brand photoshoots; • Manage our hotel design retainer to monthly work on hotel priorities design; • Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan and delivering hotel activations in different areas; food & beverage outlets, spa, rooms, suites, event spaces; • Be an ambassador for Marriott Bonvoy and launch money-can't-buy Bonvoy moments to boost the hotel awareness within the loyalty program; • Showcasing the hotel to the brand - Marriott calls, platforms and internal newsletters as best practices and examples; • Integration and optimisation of Marriott Digital Services and standalone websites to improve and update our online visibility, content and campaigns
