  • The Thin Red Line Title Sequence
The Thin Red Line Title SequenceHaving an interest in American war films, I created a title sequence for the 20th century fox production called The Thin Red Line. The film is based on the novel by James Jones, it tells a semi-fictionalised version of the Battle of Mount Austen, which was part of the Guadalcanal Campaign during World War II. In the title sequence, I wanted to reflect the brutal fighting between US and Japanese Empire but with a tribal art feel to reflect the setting (Guadalcanal) using traditional sumi ink, the ink also gives the sequence that Japanese element. The ink morphs to create depictions from the film and the themes it explores.
  • History of the Skyscraper
History of the SkyscraperA continuation from the Museum of Associations we each had to produce an individual association that would feature in our exhibit. My association shows the growth of skyscrapers and the technological breakthroughs that took place allowing engineers to reach the tallest building in the world - the Burj Khalifa. You start in 1870 with the completion of the first skyscraper housing the first elevator and then moving up the timeline to show the construction of the Burj Khalifa and how it was made possible.
  • RNLI Scuba Campaign
RNLI Scuba CampaignThe RNLI have one very important objective- to reduce drowning by 50% in the next 10 years. Heart attacks whilst diving are a big killer for (mostly men) aged 45+. With 20 people dying of heart attack whilst diving in 2016. Men of this age are generally relecutant to go to the doctor for any reason and if theres any chance they'd recieve bad news. Our task was to produce a campaign that would stop male scuba divers in their tracks and make them think I must get my heart health checked. We decided to produce a poster/press ad campaign which would go in a diving magazine. From research we knew divers are very particular about who they dive with and the condition of their diving equipment. We played on this idea of equipment and having it unfunctional, relating it back to the divers heart.
  • Changing Perspectives
Changing Perspectives‘Changing Perspectives’ is a campaign concept to encourage an increase in vote turn-out, while also informing and simplifying what each party has to offer. The campaign would particularly target communities where vote turn-out is low.
  • Dead Words
Dead WordsThe immediate impression of ‘Dead Words’, is an exploration of words that have been forgotten and are ‘dead’. However, this project instead discovers and defines the wide-spread use of the word ‘dead’ in collocation, compound words and phrases. 'Dead Words' comprises a series of booklets that highlight the progression and development of the word 'dead'. This is a discovery of the connections and variations that have occurred over the ironic lifespan of the word, with the overall theme being time.
  • RUHM
RUHMRUHM is to launch off the back of their already successful sister company, Ecologic Developments. RUHM readdresses the balance between work life and home life, bringing a sense of wellbeing into the workplace and reduce the commuter footprint. The company ethos is ‘the live work movement'. Our concept was based on the idea of adaptation, as the RUHM will adapt into the users environment and specifically tailored for the individual. The concept of adaptability is reflected in the branding of RUHM. The logo also reflects the continuing theme of adaptability and the ease of constructing a RUHM, using only isometric squares which is also reflected in the animation.
