Hi, I'm Paul, a sports photographer passionate about growing participation in sport. I'm on a mission to support and inspire marketing that gets significantly more people playing sport. This growth can be inspired by: - developing sports opportunities that meet the real needs of participants - creating promotions that look and feel relevant and authentic to potential participants - showcasing the stories and successes of the 'real people' getting out there and getting involved each day - capturing the amazing performances and emotions of competitive athletes So it’s fair to say I love sport - I watch it, work in it, take part in it and photograph it. And with my experience in commercial marketing, photography and sports participation I believe I'm in a great place to help organisations grow sports participation. The journey so far... I've been a Welsh international 400/800m runner, semi-pro footballer, slow triathlete and schools rugby player. I’ve also lost a lot of balls playing golf. My love of photography started when I was 14. My Dad got me taking pictures of my friends at athletics meetings to stop me getting too nervous before races. My 1st big opportunity came in 2007 when I travelled to Thailand to cover the World University Games. This was my first experience of a multi-sport, multi-venue, multi-client environment - all while navigating a foreign country. Since then I’ve gone on to cover the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cup, EURO2016, FIFA U/17s Womens World Cup, IRB 7s, Super 14s Rugby, Barclays Premier League and the Modern Pentathlon World Championships. At the community sport level I’ve shot local football, rugby, running, basketball, CrossFit and snowsports. My work has featured in a commemorative book & calendar following London2012; the Daily Record, Metro and Mirror Online newspapers, and in the marketing communications of various clients including ThisGirlCan Running. Away from the camera I am an experienced marketer and business growth consultant. I have worked with organisations ranging from online start-ups to multi-nationals, and within the sport, financial services and telecoms industries.
