Secret Garden Party/backwoodsman Ltd

  • Over seeing all creative build and design aspects, managing a team of designers/riggers/build experts and artists to develop the lay out, thematics and visual impact of one of the most extravagant events currently in production. Implementing schedules through out the year to ensure a smooth production for the core crew of 120 people at a 38,000 capacity site. Applying an understanding of the rigours of live events across the board. Aspects include logistics, design, build, man management, co-ordnation, and cohesive planning. Team management and recruitment are also essential aspects, working in high pressure situations to tight budgets and time frames. Experience and understanding of large scale project management and the requirements for large crowd movements and health and safety aspects whilst adhering to the interactive nature of The Secret Garden Party. The role ensures a smooth pre production operation and to allow for cohesive and vibrant live show days and a manageable fluid post production process.

  • Heading an independent company dedicated to developing and managing young artist's from rehearsal through to album release, live events and tours. My roll includes managing musicians digital distribution, publishing & promotion. Developing new artists through provision of rehearsal, recording, promotional and management experience as well as providing media and production consultancy, engineering, back line organisation and tour logistics. Overseeing release of new material, chart access applications, managing schedules and budgets boosting online profiles, booking venues, events and tours and overseeing stage/tour management and logistics. This work runs in parallel with my role at Secret Garden Party and beyond as detailed above.

  • Author and researcher of non fiction title '(Re) Defining Improvisation, The Loss of an Art Form.' A title dedicated to exploring the relevance and direction of an organic/analogue approach to creative production in the digital era. This book has developed into a web site (currently in development) that acts as a platform for further collaborative research, journalism and promotion.

  • Managing touring and static venues and overseeing all aspects of pre and post production as well as live show days. The roll covers venue build, logistics, administration, crew and staff recruitments, overseeing bar/stage management, scheduling, time tables and the adjustment there of, overseeing equipment and back line movements during live events. It incorporates light/sound and progression of the live experience. Artist liaison and green room management. Directing security, crowd management whist maintaining a high standard of continuos live entertainments from cabaret to bands and DJ's.
