I am a recent graduate ready to start a full-time career in photography and fashion. Alongside studying a BA in English Literature and an MA in Creative Writing, I have spent the last few years working as a freelance photographer, specialising in fashion and portraiture photography. I have a genuine love for clothes and am a highly fashion-conscious individual. I keep up to date with trends through various social media platforms, as well as photography and fashion magazines. Not only is it for my enjoyment, but it is also my responsibility to keep up to date with the latest styles and trends; as I believe my photography, as well as my style, reflects best from the research I do. My true interests all lie with fashion and photography, and I always hope that the photos I take, are a clear reflection of who I am, and what it is I love doing most. I am a hard-worker and having been self-taught in photography, my work has enabled me from working alongside prestigious modelling agencies such as Elite and Models1, to shooting upcoming and notable artists and producers. I have shot both professionally and personally, ranging from music photography to fashion editorials – all which have been styled and conducted by myself. I also have basic studio knowledge as I have helped assist for fashion brands such as Morv, helping produce photographs for their website under professional studio environments and pressure. By working in various retail stores as well as shooting for professional companies, I have gained the ability to create successful and sustainable relationships; short term and long-term, both which would help in making sure the highest degree of images is produced. I have excellent interpersonal skills, and I believe would transfer well to an environment where I would have to communicate effectively with the studio team. I also have learnt a lot about the fashion industry; understanding the importance of brands and their ethos, and honing the skill of understanding the wants, needs and concerns for customers in the fashion domain. I have been a valued team member, with the ability to communicate on all levels, work well under pressure and meet company goals.Locked Pro Plan feature
I have worked for companies such as Elite and Models1, shooting high standard photographs for their new faces models. I have also shot for music artists and producers both upcoming and established for festival and promotional purposes. I currently shoot with a Canon 6D and am learning and shooting with medium format film, but confidently with 35mm film. I am constantly working on personal photography projects but alongside that I have been assisting studio shoots, gaining basic studio knowledge as well as experience.
Having had experience in various high street stores, to then work in what is consider an ‘upper’ high street store, the level of customer service and delicacy given towards the customer is heightened. Often the store is not busy but that itself is an opportunity to truly bond and get to know the customer and make them feel comfortable to be in the store in the first place. Being given the role as a stylist I am meant to help build outfits and advise the customer with my own personal outtake on the clothes. I believe this job has and still is teaching me a great ordeal about what it takes to build successful relationships with customers and peers, whether it be in a short space of time or not.
As a cashier in a fast-paced environment, I am required to establish excellent customer service towards the customer’s final experience within the store. I also dealt with customer phone enquiries regarding stock checks and customer holds as well as other questions they may have.
In this role, I worked in a small team selling and promoting the brand to its highest standard. Alongside my colleagues, I was responsible for delivering a professional standard of customer service, offering full knowledge of the brands clothing as well as contributing my own personal style too. Being a sales associate has taught me to successfully prioritise tasks, as well as communicating effectively with other members of staff to ensure customers have gained a positive experience in the store.
During the two weeks experience I spent at the Landmark Hotel, I worked in the Human Resources department as well as the Concierge Department. My responsibilities included greeting guests, taking phone calls, photo-copying, organising meetings, sending emails and liaising with co-workers. This role taught me a great deal about dealing with the public, the customer service as well as working in a dynamic team of professionals, including secretaries and the concierge team.
