Dear Reader,
My name is Peter Bevan, I am 28 and I am a Graphic Design graduate who has recently moved to London to gain experience within my field. I am writing this letter to express my interest in an available design role.
Recently I have worked as a Graphic Design Intern for an up-and-coming fashion magazine called London Runway. As the magazine’s sole Graphic Designer it my responsibility to design and put together each whole issue. This role included designing editorials, article layouts and gallery pages which aim to complement and reflect on the magazine’s content while maintaining a clean and contemporary design for our readership.
As a new magazine, London Runway constantly aims for success and to increase sales. In order to achieve this, my role was to continually look for new and effective ways of working and to brainstorm fresh ideas. By collaborating with my editor, we were always looking to improve the our layout designs and to make each issue better than the last.
My drive and passion comes from putting my work out into the world and knowing it is being used. A great example of this can be found as a body of work within my portfolio. As part of an individual university project, I spent many months working alongside the Avon Wildlife Trust to truly discover how their volunteers make a difference. By having daily conversations with each individual member of the team, I was able to understand the life and role of the volunteer which is reflected within a body of work featuring on my website. Copies of the work are now owned by the Trust in order to educate others about the volunteer’s role.
I am now looking for a new challenge to extend my skill set and to gain more experience. I am interested in both print and digital design and have notable skills with the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly in Photoshop, InDesign, PremierPro and Illustrator. I also have a keen interest in photography and can retouch images to a high standard.

Working alongside my editor as the magazine’s sole Graphic Designer, I took on the responsibility to create a clean and contemporary design that is both suitable for the magazine’s content and for our readers.
Although online, London Runway is aiming to reach a wider audience by going into distribution. To become successful in those goals, we were always looking to exceed ourselves in both the magazine’s design and content. To ensure we created a magazine of the highest standard, we were always improving the way we worked, by brainstorming new ideas, problem-solving and constantly updating and creating fresh new layouts.
It would be true to say that working for London Runway has given me important and quality experience and has allowed me to flourish as a designer.
