Projects
  • E•mo•tion
E•mo•tionBRIEF: Redesign the artwork for E•mo•tion by Carly Rae Jepsen SOLUTION: I needle felted lots of little, brightly coloured characters to represent the range of feelings Carly goes through in the album. Each little emotion is then made available to purchase as a way to extend the album's reach beyond simple posters. Personal note: I wanted to learn a new crafting skill for this brief and chose needle felting since it has a low barrier to entry and can utilise lots of bright colours. More work available over at my portfolio. Student brief
  • Oishi
OishiBRIEF: Design the icons for a fully automated fast food restaurant based in Kyoto, Japan. SOLUTION: Playing on Kyoto's grid-like urban planning and the fact that Nintendo's headquarters are there, I went for an icon set based on retro video games. These icons are then used as packaging and advertising. I also went on to design the UI and UX for the ordering system, taking inspiration from a Tetris-like grid that expands and shifts to create a dynamic and engaging experience. More work available over at my portfolio. Student brief
  • Luna Land
Luna LandBRIEF: Design a theme park’s corporate report and turn it into something as exciting as the rides themselves. SOLUTION: Playing with the idea of two of the main feelings people associate with theme parks - anticipation and disorientation. The former comes in the images of people looking forward to something - a holiday, a cold drink, a ride in their car. The latter comes through in the unusual layout which appears confusing at first but makes perfect sense. More work available over at my portfolio. Student brief
  • The Mütter Collection
The Mütter CollectionBRIEF: Rebrand the Mütter Museum - a medical history museum in Philadelphia. SOLUTION: Using a bold colour palette and striking imagery, this rebrand focuses on lines - inspired by dissection lines and historical timelines. The imagery of objects from the collection intrigues the viewer, as does the unusual shape of the posters. The project conveys a feeling of cool expertise - this museum is a world-class attraction with unique items that you can't see anywhere else. More work available over at my portfolio. Student brief
  • Screenfields Film Festival
Screenfields Film FestivalBRIEF: Design the brochure for Screenfields - an outdoor film festival. This year, the movies have an aquatic theme. SOLUTION: An A5 poster-fold brochure that plays with the idea of being lost at sea -  from the tracked out text that floats away, the rippling pattern (in life jacket orange) and the images of things you'd see if you're floating alone in the ocean. I was inspired by Kate Bush's The Ninth Wave for the latter. More work available over at my portfolio. Student brief
  • Atomic Yoyo
Atomic YoyoBRIEF: Design the packaging for a yoyo for Kunstück - a German company with roots in clockwork. SOLUTION: I created a set of boxes, one for each difficulty level. Each box is sealed with a sticker that doubles as both a signature look and a security feature. The packaging features precise diagrams of yoyo mechanisms to highlight the company's reputation for accuracy and to explain exactly what makes the product so special. As featured on Packaging of the World. More work available over at my portfolio. Student brief
