With a growing portfolio of fiction and non-fiction titles under my belt, and experience of promoting books and authors via social media (and the virtual world in general), I've landed a number of writing assignments, many for online magazines, or websites, where the key-word rich content is needed to attract new visitors to the site. Some of my freelance writing highlights include: | THE GUARDIAN (Dec 2012) ~ article entitled "I wish it could be Boxing Day every day" | WRITER'S FORUM (Nov 2012) ~ article entitled "Five reasons why your kindle sales have yet to make double figures" | HANDBAG.COM (July 2013) ~ article entitled "five tips for happiness" | HUFFINGTON POST (May 2013) ~ article entitled "five tips for happiness" | GOOD MAGAZINE (July 2013) ~ article entitled "Eating Loads and Staying Slim" | HELLO MAGAZINE.COM ~ article entitled "Three Ways To Eat Loads And Stay Slim" | LOVELY BUBBLY (2014/2015) ~ website text ('splash page', 'about us', 'why whirlpool?', and 'contact page') for a company selling whirlpool baths ~ subsequent assignment to write online catalogue text for an associated company selling luxury consumer products | WITBI ACCOUNTANCY (2012) ~ website text ('splash page', 'about us', 'services', 'testimonials' and 'contact page') for local accountancy company
In the midst of the recession, and spurred on by my early self-publishing successes, I started my own small press publishing house, initially with my own titles, and then under contract or in partnership with other authors. I soon learnt that the work of publisher requires a higher than average attention to detail, superior project management skills, and a creative approach to publicity in an already saturated market place. Some of my highlights include: ~ A total of sixty five titles published (often in more than one format, sometimes several editions) for a range of clients and authors. ~ How To Do Everything And Be Happy – authored by myself – sold to Harper Collins (and Harper 360) after successfully selling circ. 1,500 copies a month, for a year. ~ All four of my self-help titles sold to Audible. ~ How To Eat Loads And Stay Slim (co-authored by myself) featured on Radio 2’s Steve Wright In The Afternoon show.
Following a change in personal circumstances I authored three and half non-fiction self-help books - all of which were re-published as audio books by audible.co.uk, which in turn led to my most popular title (How To Do Everything And Be Happy) being re-published by Harper Collins. HOW TO DO EVERYTHING AND BE HAPPY ~ ISBN: 978-0007501946 HOW TO EAT LOADS AND STAY SLIM ~ Co-authored with Della Galton ~ ISBN: 978-1518618673 HOW TO START DATING AND STOP WAITING ~ ISBN: 978-1495364747 FROM INVISIBLE TO IRRESISTIBLE ~ ISBN: 978-0956885630 I'm also the author of two light hearted novels, both of which were recently published in association with Amazon. I'm represented by Peta Nightingale of Lucas Alexander Whitley. THE GOOD GUY'S GUIDE TO GETTING THE GIRL ~ ISBN: 978-0956885678 THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS CHARMING MAN ~ ISBN: 978-0956885685
