About me
I am a self taught photographer with experience in portrait, landscape, street photography. I, myself identify as a gay male from the LGBTQ+ community, I like to think that within my work I focus on diversity and acceptance in others. I will often put my all into my work, although I am somewhat critical of my own work I thrive on being able to deliver results and good images of my work. I value criticism and learn from others quickly. I have a grasp of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to edit my images well and also knowledge of Affinity Photo. I adapt well to new technology and I currently own a Nikon D7100 DSLR with various lenses to be able to take the shot I’m looking for. I don’t feel ashamed or scared of trying to get the best shot even if the first shot was not what I’m looking for. I live in Ilford, North East London and would like to gain more experience in photography skills. I successfully exhibited my work of portrait subjects to try break down stigma and discrimination towards people with a mental health issue. I showcased my work at the London Borough of Culture 2019 LB Waltham Forest venue at One Hoe Street, E17 with further development to take the exhibition elsewhere including the City of London in July 2019. I gained a well received response for my work and am looking to continue this work of portrait photography which will entail working alongside Transport for London as well as Pride in the Borough to continue to tackle discrimination and stigma among different communities. I exhibited my portrait images of various Time to Change champions to tackle discrimination and stigma towards people with a mental health issue from 07/02/19 until 10/02/18. I created 13 images that would represent each champions negative portrayal of how they thought they were perceived if they disclosed their mental health issue. This was accompanied with a larger more positive image of each champion which focused on their inner qualities and to show that they themselves are much more than their diagnosis.
