Artist Manager/Creative Manager for New Build, Pulled Apart By Horses, Geri Halliwell, Muse almost, and many other new music groups. Being a manager of a band requires extensive knowledge of all aspects of the music industry, including Label/distribution, events/touring, media/PR/digital, brand co-operation, contracting/negotiation not to mention having perfect communication/human skills especially when articulating on music to artists.
Over the last 7 years I have worked as Music Supervisor on several feature films produced by Warp Films, thusly completing all licensing paperwork on both master and publishing sides, dealing with all record labels/publishers and also composers, as well as working with creatively with directors to ensure the musical elements of the films are perfect. My credits include Chris Morris’s “Four Lions”, Richard Ayoade’s “Submarine” (featuring music by Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys) and the recently critically lauded Peter Strickland/Toby Jones film “Berberian Sound Studio”.
I actually started in the Accounts dept, which is a brilliant way to start understanding all the comings and goings (customers, suppliers, relationships) of a record label. All the while I was involved the live events and some product management. But soon I became head of the International affairs. Thusly I was planning and implementing all campaigns in all markets for all artists out side of the UK and USA. This includes setting targets, creating budgets, planning stock movements and live activity, marketing and retail plans, and all media promotion interaction. By the end of my time at Warp I had started and was the sole employee of the Warp Artist Management arm for 3 years..
