About me
Graduating with a BA Hons Photography degree in July, predicted a 2:1. I’m passionate about work that allows me to use my creativity, regardless of the job at hand. Thinking outside of the box to tackle challenges excites me and keeps me driven. I’m a conscientious and independent worker that can also easily strive in a team environment.
Projects
  • Retired Racing Greyhounds
Retired Racing GreyhoundsGreyhound racing, is it cruel? Is using dogs for your own entertainment a moral thing to do? "But Greyhounds love to run" people will argue, and I reply "Yes, they love to run on a beach, in a field or in a park, not on a racing track." What people often naively don't acknowledge is that these dogs will never experience a life of being loved and cared for, all they know is racing. When injured or deemed not good enough they are disregarded and sent off to kennels, as if they're just an object
  • Identity pt 2
Identity pt 2As a continuation of Identity pt 1, I began to look into my teenage years and revisited my memories of those times. In particular looking at a key period of my life where I began to grow into a more independent adult. Reflecting on times with my friends that I hold close to my heart to this day. To do this I created staged photographs.

As expected the main skill that I have gained through my degree is photography. I have knowledge on what it takes to create a high quality photograph, with both film and digital. I have experience with using 35mm and medium format, as well as an understanding on how to scan digitally and also hand print in the darkroom. Learning the process of creating an edit of photographs for different purposes has been a key part of my degree, be that for a book, exhibition or website. My biggest passion is the post production, being able to take a good photograph and make it a a great one excites me. I love being able to experiment, learn and develop my skills with Photoshop. I also have skills with InDesign and using a Waccom tablet. I have good knowledge on colour correction, layer masks, curves etc. However I am quick to learn in areas that I am weaker in. I also understand the importance of organising files in a systematic way.
