Philippe Hermann Architect (PHA) is registered on the French board of architects and the Austrian board of architects and consulting engineers. Our activities are various, from architecture to town planning or artistic intervention. This is connected with making skilled individuals with different and complementary profiles work together.
The building act is not pain-killer. Even though it results from a strong will formulated by a client, this is only a part of its aim. It acts on the neighbourhood, at both, the local and the global scale. This is why it is important to m a k e i t h a v e s e n s e , not only in terms of design, but also regarding the technique, the social impact, the culture, the particularities of the site… It has to be generous and economic at the same time, satisfy needs and take place in the area where it is implemented.
Each time, there is another project generated by these dualities, different from the preliminary one resulting from a theoretical program. Our purpose, is to find the links between each action on the area and space. A given project has then to reveal, create, give interpretations to the elements defining each particular opportunity. It becomes a subtle way to grow the identity in todays complexe and multiple environnement in permanent evolution.
The constructive qualities result from a sensible and reasoned approach. Considering the c i t y a s p r e c i o u s and to be preserved through an array of interconnections of buildings, needs many different strategies. It requiers many efforts, different experiences, self-questionings, ambition, and sometimes non-conventional approaches borrowed from other fields than standardised construction. Our crew gains experience by developing a great mastery of the technical processes, implemented by an acute sensibility, logic, poesy and i m a g i n a t i o n .
