Within this placement I have been gaining depth into how a busy e-commerce studio operates, working with Studio Production Coordinators and ensuring the smooth flow of products throughout the studio teams. Working within such a fast paced environment I feel I have vastly improved my organisational skills. Key parts of my role include: - Assisting with product flow within the studio and helping to address general queries. - Operating with all in house CMS systems - Helping maintain Fulcrum work lists by checking that all products are arriving on time, and liaising with studio co-ordinators/product library team about late arrivals or removals. - Assisting with daily ‘count up’ of outstanding PIDs. - Checking that all accessories have arrived ensure all are in the correct location to be shot. - Ensuring constant flow of shot product is going through to the relevant teams. - Liaising with product editorial intern to gather any samples required by the sample team. - Locating ‘missing’ product. - Training to assist on styling sets. - Creating rotas for styling interns. - Creating model tracking spreadsheets. - Communicating to all studio teams - Working on ad hoc projects/tasks
Throughout my time at Topshop I experienced many different roles of responsibility. Having worked in two separate stores that have considerable differences I find my experience to be more widely spread. In the smaller store in Burton On Trent, I was trusted with more leadership roles. These responsibilities included leading deliveries, providing customer service and managing other staff members when managers were unavailable to. Whereas at the store in Manchester Arndale, due to the large scale of the store, different teams were put in place for things like deliveries and management, so working as part of a team is a huge part of working here. I feel like my cooperation skills and my time management are being improved here, my customer service skills being improved also.
