- Record label BrandingFor this particular project, I created a brand identity for a new record label which spans across CD/vinyl sleeves, prints and t-shirts. The brand's main vision is to promote underground hip-hop artists, musicians and producers and the logo is based on a record box. This was my first major branding project so I learnt a great deal about the whole process in general. This project has no doubt inspired me to go on to take part in more branding projects because its rewarding seeing something you've made, have a function in the real world.
- Rio De Janeiro - Typographic BookFor this project, we were tasked with making a typographic book about any topic of our choice. Initially my main ideas revolved around football and sports but I felt this was and idea that has already been done several times. Because of this, I thought back to the previous summer of that year where I volunteered in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. I took many photographs and thought it would be good to combine these with some type in an experimental book. The main goal was to create a rough and at-a-glance guide to Rio as a city. Culturally there are many things to write about, in the end I just briefly covered five key aspects of the city: its history, the favelas, the main zones, its people and the main attractions. Its a multi-layered city which inspired me to create a book made of several smaller books or sections. alone, each section doesn't make full sense but together it creates a picture of the city as a whole. In summary this book is a typographic and photographic culmination of my travels in Rio De Janeiro, giving insight into the vibes and atmosphere of this incredible city.
