I work in a range of painting, drawing, collage, screen-printing & digital textiles. My work challenges traditional printing methods, through experimental and unique approaches, investigating with new combinations and unconventional mediums. Liberating myself from the cramped and confined, working on a larger scale allows me to express movement and consequently enhances confidence, resulting in bold imagery.
I’m driven to create prints that can be viewed aesthetically, whilst challenging the viewer’s perception of the ordinary. My work does not try
to be an Anti-Fashion statement, or demand
affection for our municipal surroundings, it merely aspires to review our attitude and often detachment of the everyday. I achieve this by using a variety of mediums and combinations that can change the state of the original materials, whilst representing our environment. Breaking the boundaries of printing methods and materials, whilst depicting our stereotypically ‘ugly’ surroundings, I hope to challenge what is seen as objective subjects and create subjective artworks.
