I graduated from Middlesex university in London with a BA Hons degree in fashion design. From University I went on to assist across 3 x ladieswear collections ( F &F / Classics and True) in the launching of the Tesco fashion product to the central europe market. For the past 41/2 years I have carved myself a unique role within one of the leading suppliers in the U.K , with accounts including River Island, New Look, Wallis , A.S.O.S and George. Supplying close to season , on trend softladies wear separates . Within a small team in the West end of London I Assisted the M.D / Sales Manager and Head designer , with my role being extremely hands on high pressured and varied. Design wise I am proficient in Adobe CS5 suite and daily tasks included trend research / presentation/ C.A.D design. I was responsible for sourcing and pricing fabrics and trims and therefore have a good understanding of cost implications and delivery . I was responsible for photographing and ensuring all garments were finished to a high standard before release to customer. I am very much a people person , Often the first point of contact for buyers and suppliers, my job involved a high level of customer liasing to ensure a good relationship was maintained and accounts were managed smoothly and sufficiently. I took off a few months ago on a Motorbike trip around S.E Asia / Myanmar and Australia and have returned with new vigour. I am always looking to improve my skills and have recently embarked on a online coding and screen printing course. Since arriving back in the U.K I have been assisting on a part time basis on set for the shooting of Austin Reed product. Assisting Styling and the Online marketing Manager . I have enjoyed working within this environment very much . I am currently looking for a full time position and am available for work .
My last job was working for a Fast Fashion supplier of close to season soft separates for High Street accounts including: Wallis, River Island, New Look and A.S.O.S. Working closely, assisting the sales manager and Head designer my role was extremely hands on, fast paced and varied. I have a broad skill set of experience. I had daily correspondence with customers and buyers meeting their product needs whilst liaising with fabric mills and suppliers based in U.K and overseas overseeing the smooth running of strike offs - ensuring all shipment deadlines were met. In a Fiercely competitive environment we were focused on supplying the most commercially pleasing, highest quality product whilst respecting competitive price margins. Organisation was key to my role, I was involved in all aspects of the Account process including trend prediction sourcing new fabrics and trims, organising meetings with buyers / suppliers, Sourcing and Price negotiation all the while having an understanding of what was selling well and highlighting successful products to move on and develop for the coming season. My personal goal is to work for a more premium product.
