I am positive, ambitious and love solving problems. Following four years in the book publishing industry I took a break from work to travel through Europe for six months, during which time I established my personal blog (In Search of Happy, link below) and discovered my passion for writing. On returning from my trip, towards the end of last year, I started working as a freelancer, taking on writing and graphic design projects.
Words, sentences and language excite me. I love telling stories and I love discovering them too. Developing a unique ‘voice’ is something I have strived for (and continue to develop) in my personal work, while ensuring I adopt the correct tone and personality required by each of the clients I write for. Specialist areas of personal interest include mindfulness and mental wellbeing; food and drink; travel. Though with diligent research I feel con dent in tackling topics which are less well known to me, to provide equally authoritative content.
Books as physical artefacts – whether for learning, escapism or inspiration – are fascinating to me; I’m much more of an advocate for over owing bookshelves than overloaded e-readers. I enjoy the challenge of designing books in order for them to achieve their purpose and to enhance the reading experience; to provide a considered vehicle from where the words and/or imagery can successfully deliver their message and meaning.
