About me

I am a recent Art History graduate living and working in London. My passion for the arts began as a customer. I have always followed and enjoyed fine art and music. This passion has fuelled me to untake extensive work experience, both formally and through self-initiated projects, in the fine art world and music business. These projects projects have enabled me to develop my skills and interests in a variety of roles in the live music and events business, including managing a project from start to finish, marketing and promotion, sales, customer and client relations and budgeting. Alongside this my formal employment has reaffirmed my desire to pursue a career in the music, arts and event industries. I am now looking to apply the skills and experience I have gained over the last three years to a more challenging role which also provides the opportunity for progression.

  • Part-time Main duties and responsibilities: As a gallery assistant I am primarily responsible for gallery sales and day-to-day gallery duties such as admissions and shop sales. I am experienced in handling money from point of sale to cashing up. These duties extend to working at private views and external events. My main responsibilities when working in the main FBA offices are handling email and telephone correspondence with customers and artists alike. Managing and updating the company diary and events documents. I have experience with using and updating artist/member databases and extensive use of both Windows and Mac software. Both roles are directly customer facing and require me to work as part of a team to ensure the efficient running of the gallery.

  • Self-initiated project at The Courtauld Institute of Art (unpaid position) As Marketing Coordinator I was responsible for: - Establishing TEDxCourtauldInstitute for the first time on social media, primarily Facebook. - Generating a following for the first ever TEDxCourtauldInstitute conference and the brand as a whole on social media. - Marketing the conference online through social media and promoting ticket sales. - Promoting our speakers’ work both relating to our event and beyond it. - Establishing and maintaining our part in the wider TED and TEDx networks. - Assisting and advising the 2015 Marketing and Production team in their conference. As Production Assistant and Speaker Liaison I was responsible for: - Sourcing film and photography crews for the conference. - Sourcing staging and setting. - Booking and liaising with speakers.

  • As Marketing Assistant I was responsible for: - Generating an efficient strategy for marketing the Brainchild Re-launch event, using both online platforms and street teams. - Contacting relevant press outlets to secure coverage of the event both before and after the event. - Promoting ticket sales. As Production Assistant I was responsible for: - Assisting with the decoration of the venue. - Setting up the venue before the event, ensuring the successful running of the event, and assisting with the take down and clearing of the venue after the event.

  • Self-initiated charity project (unpaid position) Experience in starting up and managing an event from start to finish. Responsibilities included: - Booking the 5 live acts (four bands and one DJ). - Working with venue managers and sound technicians. - Running advertising and promotion campaigns online, including the production of two online promotional videos and a series of photo adverts. - Getting the event publicized in local media both before and after the event. - Managing a team. - Selling tickets and handling the fundraising total (£600).
