About me
Hey, I'm Rachel – a Kiwi graphic designer with a love for branding, web and digital design projects. I'm a strong believer in the power of design to solve problems and make businesses look good. With a quiet passion for everything I do, you'll usually find me putting my head down to get a good day's work in. Currently available for work – I'd love to hear from you.
Projects
  • I Used To Be
I Used To BeAn exciting new Kiwi company recycling inflatable pool toys into bags of all sizes – from little coin purses to big tote bags. Taking PVC, a material that isn’t recycled at all in New Zealand, they are able to extend the life of items that would otherwise be going to landfill. I created a bright, playful and flexible identity for IUTB. The semi-colon brand mark suggests what used to be, a pair of inflatable rings. The e-commerce website I designed and built showcases their different collection
  • Tunnelvision
TunnelvisionPoster and zine for group exhibition 'Weird, Ok!' at 69 Smith Street Gallery in Fitzroy, Melbourne. A reaction to the saturation of pop culture, commercial advertising and the media in our lives. "Weird, Ok! Showcases visual material counteractive to commercial advertising, which inhabits and stealthily influences society’s belief systems, encroaching on our freedom and questioning true authenticity within any individual. A collective of upcoming artists/designers who have grown-up with hybrid influences in this technological age share visual communication responses that support alternate thinking."
  • East Dulwich Dry Cleaners
East Dulwich Dry CleanersWe created a brand identity and website for local family run dry cleaning company East Dulwich Dry Cleaners. Designed in collaboration with Will Burton while working at WRB Design.
  • West & Reid
West & ReidWe created a brand identity and website for the bespoke kitchen and furniture partnership West & Reid. Simple typography and mimimal design allows the beautiful photographs of their work to speak volumes. Designed in collaboration with Will Burton while working at WRB Design.
  • Billy Elliot
Billy ElliotPromotion of Billy Elliot the musical production showing at the Arts Centre, Melbourne. I created the footprints by hand (or foot!) to evoke a sense of Billy's movement and passion.
  • Call Me Mr. In-Between
Call Me Mr. In-BetweenLayout design and typesetting of Linda Michael's essay on Callum Morton's 2011 'In Memoriam' exhibition at Heide Museum of Modern Art, Melbourne. A strong grid structure shows off technical, almost clinical, yet elegant typography.
