Having taken on various roles at several festivals both within the UK and abroad, I have gained sound knowledge of live event production with a practical focus on artist booking & liaison, stage management, niche marketing and audience research. I have extensive knowledge of independent arts events, and I maintain relationships with industry professionals and artists I have collaborated with. I am especially interested in experimental mixed-arts and music.
Pre-production • Programming one of two music stages (Green Stage), booking artists, liaising with sound technicians, and organising logistics. • Curating the gallery: developing a social media campaign to find emerging artistic talent, liaising with DIVA magazine, and helping to promote artwork in post-production. • Growing the student audience by producing a student survey on LGBTQI+ events, collaborating with university societies, designing promotional materials, and travelling both nationally and internationally to promote the festival at various events. • Increasing bi visibility within the arts programme by booking emerging bisexual musicians and comedians. • Administrative duties: collating gate guest lists, the master programming & technical specifications spreadsheet, all survey and feedback data for the festival, and generally improving crew productivity and co-ordination. On-site: • Managing the Green Stage: artist liaison and payment, overseeing all aspects of technical production, delegating tasks among volunteer assistants, and overcoming problems related to backstage hospitality, time management and accessibility. • Assisting the Main Stage manager with the above duties as well assisting artists and bands to and from the Green Room, and arranging press interviews. • Helping with set-up and clear-down of the main office, props, access areas, and signage.
• Finance: administering artist payments, distributing vouchers, and recording the use of emergency cash. • Assisting the manager with the smooth running of the production tent: dealing with audience enquiries, connecting team leaders and crew via radio, identifying problems with site facilities, and delegating tasks to flying volunteers. • Administrative duties: compiling itineraries for artists and festivalgoers, printing signage, managing the radio and crew phone logs, and recording inventory.
• Dealt with artist liaison, registration, catering, and backstage hospitality. • Managed and delivered guest lists for over 60 concerts taking place within 3 days in 10 venues. • Translated and proofread all artist correspondence and web/social media content. • Collected and distributed promotional material and merchandise.
• Worked within the executive team to organise a week-long international event in Germany for 40 members: researched and pitched destinations and activities, planned pre-tour and post-tour socials, and managed schedules, orientation and cultural excursions during the visit. • Organised and promoted weekly events for over 200 members including language café sessions, socials and society elections. • Booked live entertainment for the 2014 Warwick Literature and Languages Ball. • Wrote and distributed the weekly newsletter and managed the social media channels.
