Rafael Aflalo in an animator and graphic designer based in London.
You can't fit Rafael in a single box. Although specialized in moving images, he is well experienced in a wide range of disciplines, including branding, packaging, exhibition design, UX and UI - he even had his own skateboard shop! His projects are often characterized by an out of the box approach, in both medium and message. His achievements include screenings in international film festivals and designing the inaugural exhibition of the Pelé Museum, as part of the celebration for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Projects
- Electric WingsElectric Wings is a light installation designed to bring animation to the tridimensional world. Composed of a set of 12 bird figures in sequential positions, the installation explores both the very basic principles of animation, and yet at the same time relies on high tech Arduino programing, contrasting tradition and experimentation. The result is captured in a video that confronts the sleeping city lights at night with the ghostly figure of the bird, soaring on the darkness. Directed by: Rafa
