About me

I resigned my partnership at Hogan Lovells to start something special, something committed to improving pro bono access to justice for those in need, something committed to making law firms more efficient and more profitable, something committed to helping them deliver better value for their corporate clients - something that will do this in a fundamental way; something committed to helping deliver better value to the regular consumer of legal services too. This is something that the legal industry has been trying to implement for almost all of the 26 years I’ve been in the business but hasn’t managed to in a way that gets to the heart of the problem. I realised I’m in a unique position to be able to do this and, having proven the concept in my spare time, I now have a prototype of a corporate product up and running on my laptop and I’m in the middle of getting a social responsibility product up and running. It’s like watching magic on the screen - hence the name - LawFairy. Big claims, no? Watch this space... #legaltech #ethicaltech #profitwithpurpose #innovations #probono What brought me here - As a Partner at HL, my work was hugely rewarding. I was working with others to find solutions to problems, working with high street names and brand names, and getting into the nuts and bolts of how an industry works. Each project will be markedly different: I’ve worked on a capital raise for fashion brand Ted Baker, then helped transfer a high-profile football scout from Red Bull Leipzig to AS Monaco. It was endlessly fascinating. I’m also proud to be a recognized leader on complex listings under the evolving EU prospectus regime and a member of the London Stock Exchange’s Primary Markets Group. With the impressive roster of clients I worked with at Hogan Lovells and Cleary Gottlieb, it means I represented real leaders in their fields, including major emerging market companies, in their IPOs and London Stock Exchange listings, as well as representing leading investment banks as underwriters of high-profile capital markets transactions. Being brown and being from a poor background in the North of England, I’m invested in pushing diversity and acting as an ally to others.
