About me
Educational researcher and project manager with experience of designing and managing projects and programmes for widening participation and equal access to arts education. Experience of curriculum and resource design and delivery within the cultural sector, including the delivery of widening participation workshops and teacher CPD. Advocate for inclusive educational pathways and contributor to national conversations through research and dissemination . Experience of evaluation modelling, action research, writing public reports and public speaking.

    I currently work with the Crafts Council to deliver the school based craft education projects. This includes the national educational widening participation project Make Your Future, which I have project managed for its fourth year, exploring the impact of rurality on the delivery model. This has included recruitment and coordination of local schools, HEIs and craftspeople in the delivery of CPD, in school workshops and exhibitions. Other achievements and responsibilities include: - Managing school aged educational response to COVID19 and the production of homeschooling resources for EYFS - KS5. - Managing evaluation strategy for Make Your Future, including summarisation of data and production of reports for external stakeholders. - Organisation and management of ‘The Future of Craft Education” symposium. - Production of resources including; Birmingham Craft Map, EYFS - KS2 Craft Skills Progression Framework and Infographics on the current state of Arts Education in England. This has included the hiring, and liaison with, external graphic designers and illustrators. - Producing research driven reports on educational trends for internal and external stakeholders. - Producing a franchise model pack for the Make Your Future Programme. - Management and recruitment of external freelance contractors

    In 2017 I competed an MA from the Royal College of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum in History of Design. The focus of my studies was the design of systems of power through policy, architecture and objects. My dissertation The Supermax and the Redesign of Social Identity Through Institutional Control explored the design of violence in supermax prisons called I won an annual essay prize for my work on Happiness and Pharmaceuticals in the US and subsequently submitted the essay to the Design History Society for its annual student essay prize. Additionally I contribute to student blogs, organised and managed a seminar series with the Institute of Historical Research and contributed to an exhibition.
