Rebecca has recently joined Edelman as an Associate Director in the Corporate Reputation Team. Previously the Head of PR, Social and Internal Comms for Sony’s B2B business across Europe, with 4 direct reports, plus a network of 10 European PR agencies under her direction. Rebecca is a spirited PR leader and champion of diversity for women in the workplace and technology sector. She’s expanded the digital services of Sony’s PR efforts, leading integrated international PR campaigns, delivering to a diverse media set. With experience executing global communications campaigns she’s passionate about responsive communications amongst employees, brand reputation management and digital integration to achieve results Climbing from graduate to Head of Department in under 6 years, Rebecca plays a huge role in company life at Sony. She’s proud to have been named one of PR Weeks 30Under30 for 2018. Rebecca’s other achievements include cycling from Lands End to John O Groats back in 2010. Outside of work Rebecca spends her time taking photos, travelling, and serving at her local church.
I currently Head up PR for Sony's B2B business across Europe leading a PR function in a fast moving environment. Every day is different, I run creative campaigns for various business verticals from media and broadcast to sports production to medical imaging devices to corporate meeting room solutions. I’m used to working with multiple stakeholders across the globe. I lead a team of 4 in-house and manage a network of 10 European PR agencies. I get how to hire, manage and develop high-performing teams. I regularly work with senior execs to provide counsel and devise campaigns with positive outcomes based on what the business needs and the direction we’re going in… but then, I also get out there and deliver it, acting as a spokesperson on behalf of Sony, hosting journalists at tradeshows or press trips, writing copy, or pitching a story in. Leading Social, PR and comms campaigns ensuring Sony’s products, content, strategy, technology and senior staff are represented externally. I led media briefings, press screenings, events, product launches- assisting and counselling senior spokespeople. Event management included talent and interviews at industry tradeshows- CinemaCon, CineEurope, MIPCOM, Cannes. I leveraged key strategic commercial partnership alignments for brand exposure: The Rory Peck Trust, FIFA, Wimbledon.
Responsible for planning, budgeting, delivering and measuring integrated end-to-end marketing communication campaigns against defined objectives to drive increased lead and demand generation for Sony’s Cinematography and Broadcast Production business segments across Europe. Created & delivered multiple new product launches including Camcorder PXW-FS7 driving over 17,000 global acquisitions (127% of target). Project led 'PROduction Awards' short film campaign driving over 3,000 acquisitions (102% of target) solely via organic social media
