About me
Textile Design Artist and Fashion Designer, Rebekah Guo. She graduated from MA in Textile Design at Chelsea College of Arts. Upon graduating from Central Saint Martins with a degree in Fashion Design, Rebekah’s practice focuses on sustainable and socially responsible design. She explores the impacts of the fashion industry on the environment and uses methods such as up-cycling and material science to create new biodegradable materials. In response to the pandemic and changing market. Rebekah took it upon herself to launch her own fashion accessory brand REBEKAH GUO. Her latest collection of handbags is made from fashion waste from previous fashion collections. As the fabrics are limited to specific collections, each bag is unique and exclusive. As an artist, Rebekah pays close attention to mental health in relation to her art. She’s also studying Art Therapy Foundation at Goldsmiths, the University of London to focus her designs with a deeper understanding of the therapeutic aspect of art and the benefits in children and adults. Bio-Plastic is Rebekah’s most recent project; investigating how we can create positive feelings during a negative event, and the impact of natural disasters on emotion and our cognitive identity. By developing biodegradable 'Bio-plastic', she aims to contextualize certain natural disasters, for example, the motions of a sandstorm in the desert. Not only this but by developing an (of a substance or object) capable of being decomposed other living organisms, thereby avoids pollution. The bio-material project intends to educate more people on sustainable practices within the art and design world.

Horizon sought to introduce the atmosphere of sunrise with large spherical lights that helped to create drama and frame the large volume. The changing level of light and a specially correographed sound-track
