I continue to write journalism as well as work as a creative writer, treatment writer and scriptwriter. I also work on independent publishing and film projects.
I volunteer as a mentor for Creative Mentor Network, a social enterprise that aims to widen access to creative careers, something that I am committed to and feel is crucial to the creative industries. In 2016, after successfully mentoring a young person I was made a Trustee of the organisation.
My role was Idea generation, scriptwriting and creative concepts for commercial clients including Google Arts & Culture, Google for Education, Bletchley Park, and Google WomenWill.
Idea generation, writing and commissioning for branded content partnerships at Guardian Labs
Working first in the Commercial Editorial arm of Telegraph and then moving over to Editorial Travel desk, I generated ideas, wrote and commissioned writers for online and print projects, as well as contributing to running online and social channels. Notable projects: The Heatseeker An online interactive for travel to help people find their ideal holiday and boost content views. I came up with the original concept and prototyped the idea. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/advice/heatseeker-find-a-guaranteed-holiday-in-the-sun/ Telegraph Travel Brand USA partnership Editorial lead for the US travel channel and Brand USA content collaboration. My daily commissioning, writing and social work saw the global page views of the USA travel channel grow by 2m over the course of a year (from 200k the previous year). I was also the editor of 8 printed USA travel specials.
Ran 20 pages per week and a full website section covering art, theatre, music, comedy and books. Managed a team of 10 contributors and a sub editor. Ultimately responsible for delivery of weekly features section, both online and in print.
