A recent graduate of Historical Archaeology at the University of York with growing experience in television production. Aiming to pursue a career in the Advertising sector, A keen and creative self shooter, ranging from DSLR Canon 700 to Black Magic Design Cinema Camera (Editing on Avid). I continually produce short films and clips for various roles that I have been in. I have growing experience in different areas of Production and Administrative tasks. Of recent I was a Junior Researcher for Nutopia as an Intern. This build up my experiences and allowed me to contribute my academic and self-shooting skills from Development to Casting sectors of Nutopia. Currently employed as a Personal Assistant (for the CEO and COO) and Office Manager for Pockit (a prepaid card) in the Development and Marketing office. This has been an alternative experience of administration. My tasks run through many duties such as diary management, office management, taking calls, invoicing etc. In my spare time I also contribute by writing articles to boost Pockit's social media presence. I plan to expand to filming for their Youtube page, muchlike my previous work at Hoxton Radio and for the library and museum I had volunteered for, described below. Previously I was a volunteer at The Wiener Library, producing short films to increase the library's social media presence. A recent project was a extract reading of Anne Franks' diary to commemorate her death 70 years on. Additionally I was the Social Media Coordinator volunteer at the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, using various online platforms (Such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook) to boost the event's presence.
A position keyed with several tasks, ranging from diary management to dealing clients, bookings, ad hoc requests and office administration. Additionally, contributing to the marketing team by researching and writing financial and current affairs articles, producing adverts and webcontent to both promote Pockit and to interest its customers
By applying excellent interpersonal and communication skills, provided effective assistance in the daily run of the station with tasks including: scripting for the website and on air progammes, assisting with live shows, interacting with presenters, handling music and researching content for uploading to the website. Also became the Producer, Videographer (Canon EOS 700D) and Editor (Avid) for their various promos, interviews and shows. Additionally, tasked implementing their new broadcast software, Myriad v4, learning and taking initiatives in teaching myself with this.
Helping in creating short films for the Wiener Library’s social media presence. Enhanced communication and organisation skills while directing them. Produced a short film to mark the 70th Anniversary of Anne Frank’s death for the #NotSilent Campaign promoted by the Anne Frank Trust. Also produced films for a workshop about Tarnschriften (secret pamphlets) for the campaign ‘Museums at Night’ and promotion of archive studies about the ‘November Pogrom’.
Successfully researched materials for several productions: Finding Jesus (Series 2), Civilisations, Citipedia, How We Got to Now (Series 2), and for Development. Further aided the productions by collating time codes, VRs, answering queries from Story Producers and gathering a wide range of information. Then used analytical skills to edit the research in order to summarise the information, like Archaeological Guides for the film-crew for Finding Jesus. Alongside researching, other tasks included attending editorial meetings, cameraman for Casting for Finding Jesus (on a Canon XF305), assistance in the office, covering reception, dealing with petty cash ad hoc requests and other office runner tasks.
Boosting the Petrie’s Social Media presence in their events, using Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Most prominent events were for their ‘Murder Mystery’ event to celebrate for the campaign ‘Museums at Night’ and various book and exhibition launches.
Learnt how to research, do sound editing, conduct interviewing (recorded and live). Successfully worked as part of a team on the programme ‘News Special: River Safety - York’s Rising Problem’, which won Silver for Best Journalistic Programming in the Student Radio Awards.
Gained experience in office administration and different areas in and out of studio, dealing with props sourcing and collecting rushes, also how to set up camera equipment for interviews. Assisted in the set up and for the production of the Sainsbury’s Paralympic Games Legacy Announcement in September 2012. Assisted in setting up Red Camera equipment and helped the crew when required. Successfully functioned as communication intermediary between members of the crew.
