About me
If you have a maddening business itch you desperately need to scratch, the Cheddar Creative team are here to help. No need for "up a bit, right a bit", we'll find the exact spot to make you go "Mmmmmm..." Now more than ever, businesses must focus on the needs of their users and customers if they're to create and retain a competitive advantage and make a positive difference. At Cheddar, we use the principles of design thinking and UX/UI design to craft the most engaging, delightful and impactful brand strategies and online experiences for ambitious businesses of all shapes and sizes. We take a holistic approach to CX and use creative thinking to solve problems, explore new opportunities and build sustainable brands. I've spent most of my career agency-side working with a diverse range of clients; from local SMEs to global luxury travel brands, well-known online retailers, blue-chip financial services companies and highly-regarded educational institutions. I've also found success as an independent filmmaker, producing Raindance winner and multiple British Independent Film Award nominee Exhibit A, which the BFI's Sight & Sound magazine called "a masterpiece of gradually escalating horror."

Wanda Wallace & Leadership Forum: Web Design TrifectaWhat started out as a simple website for leading international business coach, author, podcast host and motivational speaker, Wanda Wallace, to help establish an online presence for her personal brand, quickly evolved into 2 additional web design projects. Firstly, a subscription site (integrated with Patreon) where users can buy memberships to gain access to exclusive content and bonus materials pertaining to Wanda’s popular business podcast ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’, as well as signing up for
  • Brand Identity & Web Design | Car Connector
Brand Identity & Web Design | Car ConnectorCar Connector's owner approached us with an idea for a new business concept and was confident enough to leave everything else in our hands. Following an initial discovery meeting, we set about designing the brand identity, website, corporate stationery and marketing collateral, with the aim of getting the wheels in motion as quickly as possible so we could test the offering in the real-world and establish proof-of-concept.
  • Web Design & Build | Various Clients
Web Design & Build | Various ClientsA wide range of businesses approached us during and post-lockdown – from startups and SMEs to more established companies – either looking to establish or improve their online presence, or in some cases, to take their physical product or service offering and make it more of a virtual experience. Here's a quick look at a small selection of these projects, where the client was looking for a cost-effective website solution without compromising the quality of the user experience.
  • Web Design & Build | Aspire Cycles
Web Design & Build | Aspire CyclesAspire Cycles offers cycling enthusiasts and professional athletes the opportunity to build their own bespoke dream bike, with over 2 million custom design, colour and component options. The business had been going for 3 years when the entrepreneurs behind the venture approached us at the end of 2019 with exciting growth plans for 2020, including a brand relaunch. We were tasked with reinvigorating the brand identity and totally redesigning the website to reflect its values and the aspirational
  • Product Launch | Geotekk
Product Launch | GeotekkThese days, a good lock on its own isn't enough, so our client Geotekk developed an all-in-one smart alarm and tracker to help people keep their valuables safe and secure. Launching this connected device required an integrated marketing campaign. That's where we came in.
  • Web Design | The SAA
Web Design | The SAAThe Society for All Artists (SAA) – the world’s biggest art community – approached us to redesign and expand the ‘Community’ area of its website. The community pages resided on the main e-commerce website (built using Magento), where the SAA sells art supplies to its members, which wasn’t ideal. We were tasked with building a separate community portal in WordPress, which would be more easily manageable and scalable going forward.

It was my job to ensure the agency's creative processes and standards were set and adhered to, so our creative output was the best it could be. My primary goal was to ensure the entire project team fully understood what we were trying to achieve and why, both in terms of business goals and customer needs. As well as overseeing content creation and project managing to ensure deadlines and budgets were met, the role mainly involved directing website builds, branding exercises and other digital projects, right through from discovery to delivery. Typically, my role would include onboarding the client, performing research and gleaning insight from data, setting the strategy, creating the design brief, providing feedback and direction at key review points, and delivering to agreed milestones and KPIs – all the while keeping the client, project team and other stakeholders updated. I was also heavily involved in creating the brand persona, shaping the company culture and organising events and excursions to inspire, motivate and unify the wider team.
