The key aspect of my role is to present, pitch and distribute the music of my client in the most inspiring way possible to the appropriate curators of various Radio & TV outlets. Stations covered include national outlets such as those across the BBC networks, Apple Beats1, Radio X and Virgin Radio, as well as those involved with the many regional outlets. My outgoing personality has ensured that I have built a range of strong networks not only with producers but also with many artist managers, record labels and agencies. Regular plugging appointments and my duty to physically distribute music on an interactional level within the BBC buildings has meant that I have developed comfortable relationships with many key producers in Radio. Thus far I have succeeded in achieving numerous BBC Radio 2 and 6Music playlist additions, spot plays on varying Beats 1 shows, an Album of the Week on Virgin Radio, regional BBC Radio additions, as well as succeeded in booking a large number of interviews and sessions on various stations alongside regular spot plays across a wide variety of networks including music channels and daytime television. By regularly sourcing new music I thrive to ‘break’ an act and perform consultancy duties to those involved when it comes to instrumentation, production and so forth in order to maximize the radio potential of the track. Furthermore I have worked closely within a larger team centered on an artist, liaising with digital marketing teams, press PR teams, booking agents and management to carry out not only the radio campaign with maximum efficiency and success but that of the wider campaign. Extra responsibilities include supporting acts at gigs by bringing along key industry personnel, putting together proposals, coordinating the company’s social media, handling budgets in the office and acting as HR when searching and hiring interns and staff. Current roster includes Dreadzone, The Levellers, She Drew The Gun, My Baby, Scott Matthews, Paul Carrack, Eliza Carthy, Lotto Boyzz, Marlon Williams, The Sundowners.
Co-run an online based music magazine which primarily focuses on underground music in Brighton and London called Give It Back. Magazine has been running for two years and in that time we have run competitions, organised events, covered many events as well as raised the profile of many up and coming bands in the cities.
