About me
I’m currently 35 working in the rail sector but on a Project Management side of things which allows me to develop on my skills of making sure i know how projects are completed for the client, I can do them for myself but proves I can do it. A couple of my films nominated for awards at film festivals and been selected to be shown. I’m currently working in pre-production of a documentary that’s due for release later next year, you could say this is a passion project! I'm open to doing any role from, DoP, editor, directing, soundwork, helping with the script writing process but also a PM role or anything involving data, you could say I’m someone who likes to learn about anything and everything. I'm always open to lean and increase my knowledge in each area as I believe this will only benefit not just me but who I'm working with.
Projects
  • Beautiful Brutality
Beautiful BrutalityBeautiful Brutality follows Anarchy Pro Wrestling and their 3 nights tournament. We spoke with fellow wrestlers looking at their time within the promotion, death match wrestling and how it is to be on the road as a wrestler. The documentary is full of in match footage, cuts from behind the curtains and just pure rawness. This wasn't made to look pretty or wonderfully crisp, it was made to look raw and rough.
  • Chanel: Gabrielle Bag
Chanel: Gabrielle BagThese are a set of photos I took for my partner and her fashion blog. This is of the new Chanel Gabrielle bag (no product placement or advertisment) - If I'm honest it's a fantastic, multi use bag that you can wear a number of ways, everything about it is great and this is coming from a man who loves a back pack. Chanel you out done yourselves with this one, and the fact you have Pharrell wearing one says a lot. Heck even I'd do it to show men can pull off this look.

  • Japan Through My Eyes (And Glasses)
Japan Through My Eyes (And Glasses)I'm someone who loves photography as you may have already been able to see. I suppose I'm no different to the rest of the world no days whipping out their phone then clicking at every opportunity possible to capture the moment, thus having an iPhone storing 5000 photos but a very small amount actually have a meaning to it. Yet I'm not that person with 5000 photos, I capture photos to take in the moment, I don't need a million snaps to have the right one. Sometimes you can feel it. This is my piece on Japan through my eyes - oh and glasses.
  • Cig 16
Cig 16 Every filmmaker has the desire and dream to shoot on film. Luckily at the University of East London we were fortunate to be presented this opportunity of shooting on a 16mm print, using the famous Bolex camera. Now if you have never worked with film before then you are in for a treat, no going back to view what you have shot like we are so lucky to be doing within seconds of a click. You must make sure you get everything right from the start by this I mean your lighting, movement, dialogue, everything! Would I recommend you trying to seek this equipment out? 100% for sure, you are in for a treat. This video features 3 shorts we shot on a cold Tuesday morning a few weeks ago during out 'Moving Image' class. It was easily one of the best sessions I've had to date. I'm a sucker for anything technical and hands on, which I prefer over the long tiring talking sessions, lets crack on with practical work and learn to use some equipment please. Anyway, back to the shorts, I am featured in the first two with the beard where a character or two are looking for a cigarette (hence the name Cig 16). I really do hope you enjoy these pieces, for us filmmakers we found it great just being able to use one of these cameras. It isn't something you see every day, one reason is the cost implication, it isn't cheap to process the film and it's also finding the right people who can actually do that - Again UEL do have facilities to process, one of the few who do and surely one of the only universities that have this set up.Think yourself lucky when it comes to shooting on digital, the true test is being able to take those skills and develop yourself on analogue.
  • Herpression (Short Film)
Herpression (Short Film)Herpression is based on a female character named Jess who is in her late 20s. Jess has been going through some struggles in recent years where her mind state is not what it should be. Jess was always seen as a quirky, trendy, happy go lucky kind of character but problems with Chris, her partner and cause of her depression, has taken a toll for the worst. This is my first short film that's being submitted for my Masters degree in Filmmaking at the University of East London.

    • Working on Tenders – Breaking down each section of the tender works documents, to discuss in house then issued to sub-contractors to provide a quotation and carry out the works. Other duties could include working on scale draws should they be required. • Project Scheduling – Producing a Microsoft Project or Excel formatted schedule of works, as to when specific trades and sub-contractors are to be on-site. • Projecting Costs – I taught myself to project costs; looking at the number of labour on-site, material costs and sub-contracted work. • Liaising with Clients, architects, contractors and surveyors – All of these carried out during site visits or meeting where note takings are essential for our side. • Created Pre-Start and Final Project Meetings between our responsible Site Manager and Project Managers to run through the job summarising outcomes on the job, solutions to avoid any issues for future reference and Final Account figures. • Reading and Collecting Information – Should we require specialist products/materials to be used I’ll read the specification, highlight and makes notes for colleagues so they are 100% clear as to what they are working with and how to install. • Negotiating Contracts – Part of our projects require negotiating contracts and works with sub-contractors we are employing to carry out a portion of specialist works. This can be from small minor works to works within tens of thousands.

Master in FilmmakingUniversity of east London
     - London, United Kingdom
A Masters in Filmmaking has 4 modules with a thesis as my final project of the degree. Each module requires us to put forward an idea for a film, present it to the class with a power point, field a Q&A session explaining the process of the story or how we are to shoot each piece. Writing a script, or carrying out research for the documentary portion before taking part in directing your own short films which we then edit before submission and screening.
