About me
PHOTOGRAPHER / FILMMAKER / PODCASTER / WORKSHOP LEADER Throughout my many years of creating high quality video and photography work for clients, I have honed my storytelling skills, creativity, workflow and practices: I have cool ideas; can execute them efficiently; and I love to collaborate. I cut my teeth creating portraits for Gay Times magazine before moving onto shooting live concerts. Being in the high-adrenaline, fast paced, in-the-moment environment of a press pit allowed me to develop Jedi-like reflexes to get those blink-and-you-miss-it shots. I further sharpened those skills when creating behind-the-scenes stills and B-roll video of music-promos, studio recording sessions and festival appearances. Since stepping away from the music world, I have concentrated on creating projects of my own with Night Version being a highlight; collaborating with theatre company After Eden on opera Brundibar; and writing and running photography workshops under the banner www.learnphotographyinlondon.com When it comes to visuals and the flow of a video edit, I know what works and what doesn’t. I trust my gut. I double check everything - I don’t rely on luck. Not content with creating visuals, you can hear my dulcet-tones passionately debating movies on TORN STUBS, a podcast I co-created with film journalist and fantasy author, Joshua Winning. I’m fun, lovably-cheeky, and can knock tension out of a room. Happiest with a camera in one hand, and a podcast mic in the other. I love a great story so I watch a lot of films and read a fair bit. Currently reading: The Shadow Glass by Josh Winning Young Mungo by Douglas Stewart Books read so far in 2022. The Second Sleep by Robert Harris The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty Films watched so far in 2022: The Matrix Resurrection The King’s Man Willow (Torn Stubs) Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (Torn Stubs) The Boys in The Band (2020) The Big Short Licorice Pizza The Tragedy of Macbeth Voyagers Eternals Gods and Monsters Conan The Barbarian (Torn Stubs) Polytechnique Scream (2022) After Love Who Framed Roger Rabbit (Torn Stubs) Munich: Edge Of War Boiling Point Equals Scream 4 Je Suis Karl Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein Death Becomes Her Nightmare Alley Cast Away Gangs Of New York Masters of the Universe (Torn Stubs) Death at a Funeral (2007) Death at a Funeral (2010) The Goonies (Torn Stubs) Death on the Nile Mass Uncharted Avengers: Endgame Table 19 Minamata Heartbeats 24 Hour Party People There Will Be Bloodyou Phantom Thread Matthias & Maxime Frankenstien (1931) Funny Games (1997) Funny Games (2007) The Batman 1917 Game Night Flight Plan Daniel Isn’t Real Titane Revolutionary Road X Office Space The Dark Knight I Am The Tigress Ambulance The Beach Nosferatu (1922) Call Me By Your Name Metal Lords Summer Of Soul (…Or When The Revolution Could Not Be Televised) Rat Race Showgirls Starship Troopers The Bubble The Northman Benedetta You Don’t Nomi The Worst Person In The World Die Another Day
