PHOTOGRAPHER / FILMMAKER / PODCASTER / WORKSHOP LEADER
Throughout my many years of creating high quality video and photography work for clients, I have honed my storytelling skills, creativity, workflow and practices: I have cool ideas; can execute them efficiently; and I love to collaborate.
I cut my teeth creating portraits for Gay Times magazine before moving onto shooting live concerts. Being in the high-adrenaline, fast paced, in-the-moment environment of a press pit allowed me to develop Jedi-like reflexes to get those blink-and-you-miss-it shots. I further sharpened those skills when creating behind-the-scenes stills and B-roll video of music-promos, studio recording sessions and festival appearances.
Since stepping away from the music world, I have concentrated on creating projects of my own with Night Version being a highlight; collaborating with theatre company After Eden on opera Brundibar; and writing and running photography workshops under the banner www.learnphotographyinlondon.com
When it comes to visuals and the flow of a video edit, I know what works and what doesn’t. I trust my gut. I double check everything - I don’t rely on luck.
Not content with creating visuals, you can hear my dulcet-tones passionately debating movies on TORN STUBS, a podcast I co-created with film journalist and fantasy author, Joshua Winning.
I’m fun, lovably-cheeky, and can knock tension out of a room. Happiest with a camera in one hand, and a podcast mic in the other.
I love a great story so I watch a lot of films and read a fair bit.
