I'm a designer with a passion for problem solving and I love bringing ideas to life. I have more than ten years' experience of providing bespoke solutions to meet clients’ needs and I take each job as a new challenge. My approach focuses on user-centered design. I work with clients to understand the key message that they are trying to convey, and to help them find the best way to illustrate it – whether through text or image, online or in print. In addition, I ensure that my suggested solutions balance the needs of both end-users and the business to deliver what's needed in the timeframe (and to the budget) required. I'm currently on the look out for both permanent roles and freelance opportunities, so if you're interested in working together, please visit my website (rtlinnell.com) or drop me a message – I'd love to hear from you!

Alongside longer term roles, I undertake ad-hoc freelance work, for both non-profit and commercial companies. Recent projects include designing a new logo and brand identity for Starling Arts, and producing event programmes for charity events.

In my latest permanent role, I was responsible for design strategy at Redburn, a market-leading equity research firm. I liaised closely with senior stakeholders from across the business to develop new products and iterate on existing ones. Day-to-day, I worked as part of a cross-functional agile team to ensure that all design requirements were met and to assist others across the company with design-related tasks. Some of my favourite projects included: ➜ prototyping ways to deliver improved client journeys for the firm’s websites, accessed daily by more than 1,000 clients. ➜ designing a new research website, with a focus on responsive design and interactivity. ➜ creating infographics and animations to accompany analyst reports, bringing complex research topics to life and inspiring debate.
