I support the Media Studies A2 students. I am in charge of providing technical assistance to a diverse group of staff and students. During lesson time I am on hand to provide technical advice on audiovisual equipment, including DSLR cameras, Adobe creative suite and recording equipment. My duties often extend outside my role; I provide one to one sessions with students, giving advice on practical coursework, quality checking and teaching them new skills. I run the Media studio single-handedly and run practical sessions with students and teaching staff on camera equipment, video editing software and graphic design software.
The Edge produces corporate films all over the world. My role was heavily focused on client liaison and project research. This role was extremely demanding and I often work on location for several days at a time. I managed logistics for crew and cast members, ordered camera equipment, budgeted and quality checking script. This role requires that I have incredible attention to detail, an excellent ability to build relationships with our clients and a level head. During this time I have taken part in producing films for clients such as Gok Wan, Tesco, Shell, British Gas, The Big Lottery Fund, Lloyds Banking Group, SABIC, AD GAS, Norbrook and Roche. One particular film I worked on with the director Jake Wynne won the gold award at the New York Film festival 2014.
